Boxer - Nolan Aka Wylie - Large - Adult - Male - Dog
Wylie (Nolan) 2 yr old male Dog friendly High energy Crate and house trained Very smart Federal Way, WA This is Wylie Coyote. He used to be called Nolan, but he was a different dog then. He is a two and a half year old Boxer/Lab lover. Wylie is an amazing creature. He has gone from wild and crazy to the most loyal and attentive dog youll ever meet. And boy is he ever cute!! He is such a character, and makes us giggle all the time. He has learned a lot in the last few months like sit, stay, come, wait, off and down all with hand motions so he can be commanded without words if you have his attention. He has really good leash manners, with a pinch collar. Harnesses and regular collars are not helpful for this kid. They seem to send a message to his brain that says- MUSH! and away he goes! He is crate trained, but really is best only for when youre away from the home. He got the name Wylie coyote for his amazing lungs while in his crate in his early days of howling endlessly in his crate at night. This has greatly improved but the name stuck And with Wylie around, you will not need an alarm clock. He will have you up with the sun. He needs a strong leader who will show him where his place is in the pack. Once he is put in his place, he is happy and comfortable. He is still learning how to play with humans, he gets a little rough, and needs to be watched and under tight control. His ideal home would have another strong energetic dog or several to play with, and not as an only dog. He gets bored and will start bumping things around the room to see what happens. He is very smart, inquisitive and curious. He can also open doors that have handles. (knobs are still safe- for now) He has been well socialized with other dogs, but is still learning how to introduce himself properly, so slow introductions are recommended. He has had several Boxer, Lab, Retriever, little dog and even an old grumpy Pit/Chow for playmates and has had no issues with submitting when he should, though he is still getting the hang of those social cues. He should not be around small critters or cats. His prey drive (to catch) is VERY strong, and he loves birds. He once caught a mouse, but once he caught it, he just wanted to play with it That being said, I wouldnt bet that he would only play with everything he caught. He is very strong and shouldnt be unattended around very small children because he gets very excited and will knock them over. He is more muscular than the average boxer because of his mix. He does not care for loud noises, so he would not make a good hunting dog. However because of his strong dislike of the loud noises, a slight shake of a can with a few pennies will interrupt any unwanted behavior and has been a very useful tool in training. Wylie looooves to go bye-bye. If he is out running around and he is being stubborn about coming back, all that has to be said is wanna go bye-bye? and open the car door. He will come running. And last but not least, He is frog dog.. Cutest. Thing. Ever.
